Tween graphic tees, youth L and XL
Tween is less a size than a set of preferences. Nine to fourteen year olds are still in children's sizing but shopping with adult expectations, and the gap between what fits and what they will actually agree to wear is the whole problem.
Loose, longer, plainer
Three things move a tee from kids to tween: a longer hem, a wider body, and artwork that is not explained by a caption. Bold type, single-color graphics and washed vintage prints all read correctly. Anything with a smiling animal does not.
The ceiling of our range
Our sizing stops at youth XL, which is 18.25 inches across the chest and 24.38 inches long, and fits most thirteen and fourteen year olds. Beyond that, adult XS is usually the next step, though it is noticeably wider at the shoulder.

What ages is tween sizing for?
Roughly nine to fourteen, in youth L and XL. Our range does not go beyond youth XL.
Is it for girls or boys?
Both. The cut is identical and much of the artwork is worn across the board at this age.
Should I buy oversized?
Most tweens prefer it. Either size up one step or shop the oversized collection, which is cut for that fit deliberately.
What if my child is bigger than youth XL?
Adult XS is the next size up elsewhere. It will be wider at the shoulder, so check measurements rather than assuming it follows on.
What styles work best?
Vintage, western, bold type and simple single-color graphics. Avoid anything with character illustration.
