A long sleeve graphic tee is the most useful garment in a child's fall wardrobe, because it works alone indoors and as a base layer outdoors. It replaces the awkward middle step of a short sleeve tee plus a cardigan that gets taken off and lost by ten in the morning.
The long sleeve styles use their own size runs: toddler 2T, 3T, 4T and 5-6T, and youth S, M and L. There is no youth XL in long sleeve. The toddler long sleeve is also cut about an inch wider than the short sleeve at the same size, so a child on the edge of two sizes often fits the smaller one here.
Unribbed sleeve ends ride up under a coat and end up bunched at the elbow. These have a ribbed cuff that grips the wrist lightly, so the sleeve stays down when an arm goes into a jacket. It also stops the endless chewing of a loose cuff edge.
The fabric is the same mid-weight cotton as the short sleeve range rather than a heavier winter knit. That keeps it thin enough to go under a sweater or a coat without adding bulk at the shoulder, which is where most kids' layering goes wrong.
Not quite. The toddler long sleeve tops out at 5-6T rather than 5T and is cut about an inch wider at each size, and the youth long sleeve stops at L. Check the size guide rather than assuming the short sleeve size carries over.
Indoors, yes. Outdoors in real cold they are a base layer, not a coat. The weight is chosen for layering rather than standalone warmth.
Minimal, and the pattern allows for it. Hot drying is what pulls sleeves short, so tumble low or hang.
Same cut throughout. Browse by artwork rather than section.
Ribbed cuffs relax slightly with wear and recover in the wash. They will not go permanently slack unless they are stretched wet.
